How does location check-in work?
You add your office locations with a radius. When an employee taps Check In, Clowi confirms their phone is within that radius. On an approved work-from-home day, they can check in from anywhere.
Do my employees need to install anything?
No. Clowi works in any modern browser on a phone or computer. Android users can also use the Clowi app, and anyone can add Clowi to their home screen.
Can I set our own leave rules and holidays?
Yes. Your administrator sets the yearly allowance for each type of leave, and HR adds your company's holidays. Requests beyond the allowance aren't accepted.
How is pay calculated?
Each pay cycle, Clowi counts paid days — days checked in plus approved paid leave — and multiplies by the daily rate. HR adds allowances and deductions, and staff download a PDF payslip.
Who can see salaries and personal details?
Only HR and administrators. Employees and managers see colleagues' work details only — name, role, department and work email.
Can an employee check in for someone else?
No. Each phone is registered to one person the first time they check in, and a check-in from someone else's phone is refused. Every record also carries the device and IP address, so HR can see exactly where it came from.
Do we get our own link?
Yes. Your company gets its own address with your logo on the sign-in page, and only your staff can sign in there. In the Android app, staff just search for your company's name.
Will staff get notifications on their phone?
Yes. Approvals, decisions, community posts and other updates arrive as phone notifications in the Android app and in the browser. Anyone can switch them off in Settings.
How are accounts removed when someone leaves?
Employees can't delete their own account. Once HR approves a resignation, HR can remove the account; HR accounts are removed only by an Administrator or Director. Anyone can also ask us by email. Attendance records your company must keep stay with the employer.
